![]() Holding 'Jump' and 'Move forwards' (default is 'Spacebar' and 'W') will make the climber lunge in the direction that you are looking. ***IMPORTANT*** Holding 'Jump' and 'Move backwards' (default is 'Spacebar' and 'S') will make the climber stop climbing, so if you're stuck, do this to let go If you think you should be able to climb onto the ledge, but it won't work, shuffle left or right and try again (this is a bug that needs to be addressed) Holding the 'Jump' key (without pressing directional keys) is the input to climb up onto the ledge that you're hanging onto (you need to be looking up to do this) ![]() You need to look in the direction that you are trying to move (this also applies to catching ledges, and climbing onto a ledge) as the climber will only grab handholds that are in your cone of vision Directional movement inputs (default is WASD or left joystick) are used to move up, left, down, right (respectively). Unfortunately this can cause you to jump to your death on tall towers, so if you don't want to wall jump, make sure you don't release the jump key if you are airborne (standing on the ground or already hanging onto a ledge is safe to do so) This will cause you to jump off of any wall that is close enough. If you have learned the 'Wall Jump' skill, pressing the 'Jump' key down while you are airborne will perform a wall jump test. You can only catch ledges that are less than a 30 degree slope to the vertical, any steeper and you will not be able to catch (there are exceptions to this, but those are hard to explain) If you are currently moving downwards, the climber will only catch the ledge ![]() If you are currently moving upwards when you catch a ledge, the climber will try to climb up onto the ledge (if it can't climb up, you will still catch the ledge) If you are standing on the ground, nothing is happening, you must be airborne for the climber to grab anything If you press the 'Jump' key (default is 'Spacebar'/R1/RB) while moving towards a short obstacle, you will vault over it (you won't vault if you are standing still) There are definitely a few bugs in the climbing system, but I think the main issue is a lack of understanding for the climbing mechanics since we haven't made a proper climbing tutorial yet. As requested, here's my notes on climbing.
